Governor Pawlenty is looking more like the veep for McCain

Watching ABC’s This Week, John McCain was being grilled by George Stephanopoulos on tax increases or cuts.  Finally McCain fell back on the tired mantra we are so familiar with in Minnesota, the problem is not government revenue (reason not to raise taxes) but a spending problem.  We have been hearing this from Minnesota Republicans for a couple of years now.  Maybe McCain spent too much time hanging out with Tim Pawlenty.

On medical care, McCain spewed the typically right wing talking points, attacking Canada’s system.  He talked about health care decisions should be made by people, not government, but as usual, what about private insurance companies.  They make a majority of the decisions for Americans these days, just a bit of an omission.

Yes Josh, your “spew” – I mean your post – is interesting.

Honestly, you’ll never persuade anyone of anything if this is the level of rhetoric you’re using. All you’ll ever do is preach to the converted, and only half of them will listen.

So which is it interesting or pointless. I am guessing you aren’t persuaded by it, meaning it is pointless, as you belittle the post, yet you ended up here and felt the need to comment. So if it got under your skin, then maybe it irked you, made you question the final point.

That American people are not making our health care decisions, but insurance companies are, which the supposed “untainted by lobbyist” McCain wants you to believe it is a choice between people or the government making their health decisions.

I will acknowledge your need to vent by commenting if you acknowledge my need to vent and comment by posting the blog in the first place 🙂

You may want to check out some of my blogs on social security, which really looks at the numbers. I think those are my best pieces. Or facing the rising gas prices, you could check out my post on the lie that environmentalist have limited refinery capacity when it was a conscious effort by oil companies.
